“Smart Modeling” Workshops.

June 2019, Urgench (Uzbekistan): The workshop will set the tone for collaboration by providing a platform for students and young researchers to present and discuss their work and the contributions they intend to make as part of the project. Working sessions will focus on identifying specific engineering challenges posed by future software-intensive systems, and how to address them using model-driven techniques (research) and improved teaching contents (qualification). Also, a joint effort to comprehensively survey the state of the art of MDE, performed by young researchers, will be initiated.

June 24 – 28, 2019, The workshop is locally organized by the Urgench branch of TUIT, and takes a place at: Hotel BAHOR Khonqa str. 11, 220100 Urgench

The Students Seminar on Thursday, June 27, will take a place at the Urgench branch of TUIT, Al-Khorazmiy str. 110, 220100 Urgench

Students “Smart Modeling” Seminars

Summer Semester 2019

In the framework of the Smart Modeling project, the second students seminar entitled “Modeling IoT Systems” is organized during the Summer Term of year 2019. The seminar was jointly organized by TUIT and UOL in English, so that students from both partner institutions can participate and work together, properly. After working on more generic topics regarding modeling, this year, the application of modeling techniques to “Internet of Things” is the focus of the seminar. This year, each topic is given to a single student from TUIT or UOL and supervised by participating scientists. Since the single topics are grouped in several higher-level topics, the collaboration and discussion of students inside these higher-level topics is possible.

On the 22th of May, 2019, the first status meeting was organized in Germany to discuss the current status and progress of German students. Vitaly Pak from the TUIT, Uzbekistan, joint this meeting and presented his current status, too, because he was in Oldenburg, Germany, to present some of his research results at the “2nd World Congress on Undergraduate Research”, located in Oldenburg 2019.

Summer Semester 2018

In the framework of the Smart Modeling project, the first students seminar entitled “Smart Modeling” is successfully completed during the Summer Term of year 2018 (see Pictures). The final presentations of participating students took place on the 9th of July, 2018, using online video conferencing system. The seminar was jointly organized by TUIT and UOL in English, so that students from both partner institutions have participated and work together, properly. The course of the seminar was organized as follows: First of all, topics are identified in the field of MDE, Ontologies, Collaborative Modeling and Model-Driven IoT. These topics were briefly described and offered to potential seminar participants with introductory and more elaborate literature. The students were introduced each other allowing for teaming up and choosing common topics. Each topic was preferably worked on in teams of one TUIT student and one UOL student and supervised by participating scientists.

In the first phase, the students have developed their topics roughly, chosen priorities and structure their elaboration. The results of this first phase (the first rough outline of the topic and the further procedure) were presented by one member of each to all participants using the video conference solution. In the second phase the students have completed their elaborations taking into account the received feedback. At the end, on 09.07.2018, all team members who did not present in the first phase have presented the respective overall results.
